Morton Bartlett

Another inspired by tiny toys like myself, Morton Bartlett crafted lifelike dolls and photographed them with near obsessive passion. They are further into the uncanny valley than most doll photos I've seen, and for someone with no formal sculpture training, he seems to have done alright grabbing our attention with his creepy creations.

Andrew Shaylor

Andrew Shaylor, another to capture the circus and other niche lives in a stark, intimate way, whose work can be found here.

Miss Jenica

Lighting in the Bond film franchise, opening sequences.

Goldeneye

Benoit Paillé

Benoit's work makes it look like he can see monsters and he's trying to show you proof. Everything looks hyper-agitated and dangerous, even when supposedly serene.

Jane Hilton

Jane Hilton is fabulous. Senior citizen burlesque dancers? Chickens in recliners? Abandoned casinos? Yes. Yesyesyes. When I think about what I want to photograph, what I want to find out there, this is what I imagine. She loves all the things in my head, and I love her captures.

Pete Souza

Pete Souza, the official photographer of the Obama administration, has a very intimate and informal collection of photographs from his time around the White House. The pictures feel very "fly on the wall" and hint at a sort of presidential Instagram flow with their subjects. The complete set can be found here, along with some personal comments about the exclusive gig.
